"We are going inside, beware there is a small step."
He guided me through the door, let me go for a moment to close it, and then grabbed my arm again. We were in a large room I heard from the echo of our shoes on the stone floor.
Suddenly we walked on a carpet. The sound of our footsteps was muted. It was not cold, despite the fact that I no longer felt any sunlight.
"We're walking to the back here." He said it in a tone as if I could see where we were walking. For me it could just as well have been we were walking to the front.
He suddenly let go of me again and I almost fell over.
"Oops, sorry, I just have to open a door."
I heard a sliding door that was opened and he grabbed my arm again.
"Watch out, here we have to go down." Fearfully, I grabbed him with both hands again.
Warm air came out of the room. We walked down the steps and suddenly I felt the sun.
He carefully loosened my hands from his arm and walked away. From the left I heard him say: "Now take off your blindfold."

RandyD1369about 4 years agoDiTo_D has said some very kind things about me and my editing. I want to say “thanks”to her for that. It doesn’t happen often. Mostly, the give and take between an author and an editor is closer to a war than to a discussion. We haven’t worked that way. I suggest changes. Sometimes, she accepts, or counters with a third option. Sometimes, she says, “No, do it my way.” And, since she’s the author, she wins, LOL. And, that’s the way it should be. The author is the creator; an editor just nibbles around the edges trying to polish the rough gem the author provides. I’m proud to have been able to help DiTo_D tell her story in her own way. Assuming we stay healthy, there should be more chapters to come. And, she’s promised me a dinner, if I ever get to Europe. This is almost as much fun for me as writing my own stuff. RandyD1369
