What's the difference between a Series and a List?

Literotica Series and Literotica Lists are similar in many ways. Both are ways for Literotica members to group stories.

Literotica Series

A Literotica Series is a group of stories by a single author, created by the author of the works. Only the author of a work can add that work to a Series. Each published story can only be in one Series. In most cases, Series are used by authors to group related works which, taken together, comprise a larger story or world. A Series might be seen as a novel, where each chapter is a single work. Another use of a Series might be to group works which take place in the same author-created world, like films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Literotica Lists

A Literotica List is a group of stories by one or more authors, created by an author or any registered member of Literotica. In contrast to Series, Lists may contain stories by different authors and stories may appear in an unlimited number of Lists. Lists may be used by authors to organize their stories, but most often Lists are used by readers to catalog and share stories with similar themes, kinks, or traits. A List might contain only stories about BBW cuckolding in Norway or a collection of stories where the protagonist is named “Charlotte”. Lists offer a way for readers to become curators of the works published by Literotica authors.
